RB

RB, born in 1988 in Le Puy-en-Velay, France, is a French visual artist whose work lies at the intersection of Pop Art, Street Art and contemporary illustration.
A self-taught artist with a lifelong passion for drawing, he has developed a distinctive visual language in which painting becomes a vehicle for storytelling, poetry and a thoughtful reflection on contemporary society.
His work is characterized by the precision of its line, the vibrancy of its colour palette and the richness of its compositions. Drawing inspiration from popular culture, urban environments, travel and the social issues shaping today’s world, his paintings are layered with visual references that invite viewers to engage in a gradual process of discovery, where every element contributes to a broader narrative.
At the heart of his artistic practice is the ongoing series Pensées Vagabondes (Wandering Thoughts), which serves as the conceptual thread running through his work. Blending poetry, philosophical inquiry, environmental awareness and social commentary, RB creates an artistic universe where optimism coexists with critical reflection.
Rather than delivering fixed messages, he seeks to spark curiosity, emotion and dialogue, convinced that art should remain above all a space for freedom, encounter and shared experience.
Alongside his studio practice, RB has produced numerous large-scale murals throughout France and abroad.
Whether created in public spaces, schools, cultural institutions or during international artist residencies, these projects extend the same artistic ambition : transforming places into spaces of dialogue, collective experience and visual wonder. His background in education, combined with formal training in art therapy, further reinforces the deeply human dimension of his creative approach.
RB’s work has been presented in both solo and group exhibitions across France, including in Paris, Chambéry and Le Puy-en-Velay, while international residencies in Spain, Greece, Finland and the renowned Street Art City have broadened his artistic vocabulary through encounters with diverse cultures and creative communities.
Also an author and illustrator, RB has published several books under the title Pensées Vagabondes, extending his artistic exploration beyond painting. Across canvas, mural, text and illustration, he has built a coherent multidisciplinary practice driven by the same ambition : to create art that is generous, accessible and unmistakably contemporary – art that encourages viewers to question their perception of the world while preserving a vital space for imagination.
