Self-taught artist, born in 1992, nicknamed The Drich ‘, Adrien has lived in Vénissieux since always. After a year of training at the stone of Volvic, it is in 2017 that he decided to discover his work to the general public. He evolves in an abstract style using multiple technics of projections, bomb or collage on his paintings.
As a child he already bathed in the world of painting watching his mother work on his paintings. It is in college that he discovers a true artistic identity by starting to paint on forks, to come gradually to launch on canvas, while going through experimental phases where he uses other media like anvil, saw blades or mirrors.
Adrien transcribes his emotions through painting by varying the movements, voids, solids, colors, mediums, techniques, materials and objects that he assembles spontaneously and intuitively. The paintings are not studied in advance, everything is played on the present moment. The ideas fuse and the artist creates.
It is then up to observers to let their imagination go through these colors and reliefs by imagining characters, animals, objects, landscapes or simply to appreciate the movements and technics used by the artist.
« To paint is to scream in silence, I sublimate my demons through painting. «
« The obligation to produce alienates the passion to create. »
Varied technics and styles, The Drich’ leaves his emotions guide his tools to the essential. Its purpose is no longer to represent the strict reality but to transmit a sensation. Spontaneity is the key word of his work. He manages to establish a subitl game of contrasts between the vivacity of the projections and the gaiety of the colors, the sketched rendering of the spots and the depth of the painting.
The Drich’ plays a part of mystery through the use of resin to leave room for the imagination of the viewer. At the same time, he also appreciates the pure and poetic work. Open to the exploration of technics, he constantly tries to find new relationships of colors.
Largely inspired by the achievements of street artists from the 90’s to today, Drich’ designs his paintings according to a juxtaposition of layers, embellished with acrylic paint, aerosol can, Posca and other pictorial technics. The act executed with vivacity, in resonance with the recurrence of graffiti, gives all its plasticity to the work.
Percutant and powerfully colorful, his paintings are full of dynamism, driven in particular by a strong inspiration from the urban world.
Using the use of universal symbols associated with images extracted from pop and underground culture, The Drich’ gives us the keys to enter his universe, as corrosive as poetic.
