François began photography in the 70’s with an Instamatic Kodak and his flashcubes. It is the great era of silver. Very early interested in the action photo, auto racing, motocross … he extends the experience by the black and white lab, from development of films to print in the bowls under the red light of his bathroom. Later he will buy a Cibachrome developer for his prints from slides, the beginnings of excellence in art prints. The beauty of the subjects is at this price.
François also loves sport events, showing movement through technique allows him to make his images alive. The sailing and its old rigging, the departure of the Route du Rhum, a perfume of adventure and travel probably, car racing and its atmosphere like the 24h du Mans, stories of machines but stories of men, all that fascinates him.
Whatever the subject, it is all about the eye, the rightness, the right moment of triggering, the lights that change, the relation to the other and nature. This passion, François wants to share with the greatest number and make the ordinary … extraordinary. Here are the photographers who inspired him throughout his life: Jean-Loup Sieff for his black and white fashion images, Raymond Depardon and his travels in the middle of deep France, Eliott Irwitt for his street photos, Yann Artus Bertrand and his vision of the planet, Philip Plisson and his photos of the sea, and so many others, whose images inspire him on a daily basis.
“To photograph is to put on the same line of sight the head, the eye and the heart”
Anxious to keep a trace of his wonders, François photographs the landscapes and the scenes that touch him and takes care to immortalize the places as much as his own emotions.
