Artwork of Covid exhibited virtually during the reopening of art galleries in Milan, Italy, in spring 2020. A pictorial work that is part of history. Was produced for a Milanese Boom exhibition which was postponed due to confinement.
That night, Lombardy was isolated and I plastered a heavy and sticky plastic veil on my still fresh canvas. I masked the patterns, I stifled the paint, I muzzled the abstractions and I confined life under plastic. Like a virus on our bodies, our lungs and our lives, like the human hand on nature, marine life, the Amazon.
A fair backlash, this delayed boom. A week later, it was my turn. And the canvas remained confined to dry slowly until the release. The release! Well, that’s what I though.
