Alexandre Régent is a painter, plastic artist, born in 1993 in Besançon, France.
Self-taught but inspired by a surrealist painter father and a sister who graduated from the fine arts, he practiced ink and pencil drawing since childhood.
He then continued his initiatory journey with graffiti, illustration and finally painting.
Alexandre Régent quickly chooses total abstraction, pure creation offering more freedom to its interpretation, which fascinates him more than the figurative.
Today, AlexandreRégent is evolving in an abstract approach, with a raw, ornamental connotation, where organic and cosmic universes merge and come to life.
Through his creations, the infinitely large and the microscopic coexist on the same complex organizational plan.
The colors and their power exacerbate his creativity, he likes to experiment, detail, sculpt each shade. The work of forms and their symbolism is just as fascinating for him and his approach tends to evolve towards the intuitive and a concept in perpetual evolution.
Alexandre Régent’s inspirations are mainly the works of Kandinsky, Max Ernst, Miro, and Yves Tanguy.
“The lifting of taboos at the start of the 20th century marks a new artistic area, hence my strong interest in the surrealist movement.“
